I was a straight A student throughout school. I am currently a high school senior, so the information is still fresh in my mind. I have spent a few semesters as a tutor and volunteer assistant in a local elementary school. I enjoy working with children and being able to help them succeed in school, because without school, the future is bleak!

A Little Bit About Me...

Our children today need to be encouraged and given the opportunity to develop. Some students aren't able to get the attention they need in a classroom setting with all of the other students. All they may need is one on one time to help explain the concept in a way they understand. I'm a very "hands on" tutor and like developing fun, creative ways for the students to learn. I am always driven to do my very best. This has been indicated as I earned mostly A's in all subjects. I have worked in the business world in marketing and I know the value of education. I have a Masters Degree in Teaching. I am currently an EC teacher. I am shocked at the number of students who do not have the basic skills in reading, writing, math, science and social studies but yet the school system continues to pass them to the next grade without these skills. My teaching style is based on reading then reviewing. At that point in time ask questions to see if the student has grasped the information being given. If not, answer questions then clarify. When reviewing information it is important to make sure the student knows reasoning behind subject matter so that they are understanding logic and not just memorizing information. In subjects that invloves math such as probability, chemistry, or statistics, I would do a few examples followed by letting the tutee working a few problems.
