My comments on tutoring Teacher Cert Exams : Math portion of the GACE exam.

Since retiring in 2002, I have tutored over 4,000 hours of mathematics, including all levels of middle school math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, II, & III, Geometry, Trigonometry, Integrated Math I, II ,III, and IV, plus Coordinate Algebra and Analytic Geometry, and Calculus. A Little Bit About Me...

I truly believe all children can learn. I am very student-centered as I know that each child learns in different ways. I have a minor in Psychology which I use to help me understand the psyche of the child. Behavior is a very important aspect in learning and I employ Positive Behavioral Supports and an individual approach to every child. I am a strong believer in using real-life problems, manipulatives, and engaging activities that use all the senses.
As a graduate from a rigorous teacher training program at USF, I learned many skills and techniques to to teach students of all ability levels and ages.
