My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : I have taught several sections of creative writing; in addition I am a published poet and have several writing projects underway.

Interactive! Students need to apply what they have learned, to reinforce the learning cycle.
My instructional experience includes over 230 credit hours of composition and language arts instruction, including creative writing, literary analysis and Shakespeare. However, most of the instruction has been focused on composition. I developed a bachelor level English course for Pearson Education, working as a writer on a team of three; the course was deployed nationally at over 100 campuses.

I have always tutored informally, whether fellow classmates or nieces and nephews. My formal teaching career began as a Teaching assistant at Johns Hopkins University for a field ecology class. I continued as a guest lecturer at various universities and seminars relating to field ecology and oil spill clean-up. I have a bachelor's degree in English from Tulane University, and I've also started my teacher certification. While I was in college, I worked in three local charter schools tutoring kids in grades 1-8 in reading, as well as helping them with language arts, math, social studies, and writing skills as needed.
