I hate lecturing! I do! This is why my tutoring style is very interactive. I don't like talking AT a person, I prefer to have a conversation. My goal as a tutor is to make subjects interesting, and also to make sure they stick- so you can do well on exams. I also teach study skills in every session, so ideally you won't have to rely on me forever. I try to give students tools that they can use to teach them how to teach themselves- something they'll have to do if they're considering college.
I have worked as a tutor for 10 years in all subjects, especially focusing on ESL learners. As a graduate, I've been very blessed to have received a degree in Business Communication. In college I learned how to become a better educator, and communicate with them on the highest level. Although, I tutor in all of the academic areas, I also enjoy helping my student appreciate the art of becoming a good writer, and thinkers. My students are also encouraged to read for relaxation, and entertainment. Making the education process fun is also an asset. What interested me in a pursuing a teaching career was the tutoring experience I gained in high school and college. I started tutoring high school students in basic mathematics and science, and in college I was able to broaden my tutoring base to Spanish and English composition.
