I began tutoring in the third grade after I was accepted into Independent Study Classes. I was selected to tutor my fellow classmates in spelling and reading comprehension. My volunteer tutoring continued throughout my grade school years and into my higher education career. Once in college, I was hired as a mental health worker and tutor to austitic children. I have always excelled in reading comprehension, writing skills, and English communication classes. These skills have aided me in my pursuit of higher education with a focus on the Psychology and Sociology disciplines. The duties for my current position at the Medical College of Georgia Cancer Center include reading new research studies, writing descript summaries of new research studies, and preparing various documents to submit before the Institutional Review Board of the Medical College of Georgia. My gift is working with children, it brings joy and peace to my heart.I have a passion for working with children who really can not help themselves because they are either lost, not motivated, or scared.I just want to be an inspiration in their lives. I am very patient and humble young lady. No child is the same as another, so therefore; they are unique in their very own way. I believe that every child can succeed, but they just need to be instructed in the right direction. I can provide that direction because I will be their compass to the world of understanding, knowledge, and discovery. As a graduate of a Health Science program at a competitive public university, Clemson University, I showed an understanding of many science disciplines. In the course of earning my BS in Health Sciences with a Concentration in Pre-Professional Health Studies, I became well versed in biology as well as chemistry. I have also demonstrated a passion for education as I wish to continue my own education in a masters program. I attended the School for Creative and Performing Arts in my home town. I have a skill for the Visual Arts and have had many years of Art History. I also read music and play the piano. I love working with children and students of all ages. I was a volunteer at Shriners Childrens Hospital for many years in the recreational therapy department. I was a "class teacher" at a friend's daycare part time, and I held a summer job as a lifeguard and swim instructor for many years.
