This depends on the student and his or her individual needs. I like to find creative ways to make learning more fun for the individual so that he or she will feel more motivated to learn.
I have been tutoring since I was in high school. Between that and teaching Sunday School and Children's Church, I have more than ten years of experience. I have tutored children whose ages range from elementary school to high school. I have also tutored adults to help with college classes and help prepare for GED tests. It has been proven that students have different styles of learning. Thus, I understand that my tutoring approach will not be the same for each client. I usually start off with a detailed explanation of the problem that includes diagrams and models. If that is not enough, then I usually try a more spatial approach to the problem by demonstrating science and math in everyday life.
