A Little Bit About Me...

Education is the central focus of my everyday life. I have obtained a BS in Management-Health Care/HR and 5 Associate degrees in Business Administration, Administrative Office Technology, Medical Office Technology, Legal Secretary, and College Transfer. I have been homeschooling my son since 2006 and mentoring students through a local church for just as long. In addition, I tutored in 1990-1991 and 1994-1997 while in college to earn extra money. I have assisted students with Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies, and Mental Health issues. I have published my own poetry and have written a novel which I will publish soon. A Little Bit About Me...

As a UCSD student, I was required to excel not only in my degree specified area, but in areas not related as well, such as math, science, and American studies. I graduated Summa cum laude from the university, and wrote an honors thesis in creative nonfiction which received highest honors. I am a member of Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society. I have been an avid reader my whole life, and began tutoring younger students in reading and writing skills in high school. In college I spent one summer teaching at a summer science camp, and this summer I worked as an education intern for the Smithsonian, where I taught about the Chesapeake Bay Watershed. I was also a student teacher in a lower division creative writing class, where I was in charge of five students, and led group discussions about each student's short story.
