A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching. I us a guiding method of teaching. Because I believe that students learn the most when they do the work themselves, but sometimes they need someone there to motivate them or to guide them in the right direction. I feel this works in group studies also, but, the difference being is that all the student will be involved in a group discussion.
I am a student that has a drive of excellence. I graduated from Northern Ill. Univ in 2010, as cum laude. I hold a B.S. in BioChemistry. I have experience as a tutor, which I obtained while as a student at NIU. I would tutor other students with in the chemistry, math, and biology departments.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always loved working with children and can work with children of all levels due to growing up with an autistic younger brother. His disability has taught me to be patient and open-minded with all children. I understand that all children have a different way of learning and it may take time to identify a child's learning style. I am very observant and so I can quickly pick up on how a student will learn best. I understand that some children aren't fortunate enough to have a support system to help them through school and to take time to teach them. I would like to contribute to helping to teach children on all levels. Some children just need a boost to get them on their feet and some children need more guidance than others.

I enjoy teaching several subjects to all different age levels. I enjoy taking a difficult subject and finding the way in which it relates to the student. While in college I was a youth soccer referee in which the referee has to explain to the rules and apply them to kids ages 5-11. It is exciting to watch the students understand the message that I am trying to portray. If the first attempt to explain something to a student is unsuccessful, then I will explain it in different ways until the student understands. A good teacher can make all the difference as I have learned through my educational experience.
