I'm not going to lie; I hated school when I was younger. Some people might think this a drawback when hiring someone as a tutor, but I think it has made me more sympathetic to students who struggle, who don't enjoy school and who need someone to give them a reason to excel. I also can inspire students who are modivated and open up new worlds to them and make learning fun. I love reading and writing, history and theatre, art and science and everything else in between. Teaching on a one-to-one basis is the most personal and rewarding experience that a teacher may have. Part of the reason for this dynamic between the teacher and the student is because a student can learn many times over when it becomes a one-to-one basis. Of course, if a student is predisposed towards a particular learning style that is effective then it must be utilized. Reward and knowledge must be a constant. Finally, but most important, I have always believed that a teacher must be more interested in finding methods that are effective teaching techniques instead of being too preoccupied in teaching knowledge that showcases the teacher when it should be the student that is of paramount importance.

I hold a degree in Organization & Corporate Communication with a minor in English, Rhetoric/Writing Studies and 14 years experience in public relations throughout my various jobs. Grammar, writing, composition writing, essays, grant writing, are all skills that I excel in. More importantly than any of that is that I enjoy writing and and enjoy reading books on grammar.
I have tutored friend's children over the course of several years. I have taught religious studies for over 15 years to youth ages 14. I have worked extensively with children in my various lines of work in the mental health field and foster care.
