I am currently a teacher on the Navajo Nation in St. Michaels, Arizona. I teach three classroom at St. Michaels Association for Special Education with students ranging from severe autism to tracheas, g-tubes, daily seizures, etc. I currently teach Primary Medically Fragile and Primary Autistic support, which is kids ages 5 to 9 years old. I am also the head teacher for the Lifeskills classroom, ages 12 to 22 years old. I have an assistant teacher in the Lifeskills classroom, who runs the appropriate hands on lessons prepared. I love teaching, and find helping others learn and understand very rewarding. My experience has taught me that many, if not most, learning problems are reflective of the teachers incomplete understanding of the subject they are trying to teach. The subjects I teach I do understand, and can describe to the student from different 'angles' as it were, in helping them gain command of that subject in their own minds.
