I have always had a passion for education and learning. I have always excelled in mathematics from elementary to collegiate levels. I LOVE math. I love to do math and I love to teach math. I was even on a math competition team in middle school. I have a strong statistical background from my Psychology studies and have taught Middle Grades Math to 8th graders. I taught Standard 8 Plus and Algebra 1 to 8th grade students in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system. I also tutored Psychology students in Statistics at the collegiate level during my time as a teaching assistant. I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and showing them something new. I feel a sense of reward when a student of mine realizes that they have a new concept. When the lightbulb comes on it is the best feeling in the world. There have been numerous studies showing that different types of learning exist, and it is my belief that each individual student needs to be taught through adaptive teaching methodologies. I believe that everyone is unique, and each student needs to develop their own style of learning. It is the job of the educator to discover those different styles and implement a teaching method that is most advantageous to the student. Having earned a bachelor's degree in Theology and Apologetics with superior academic achievement,I have challenged myself academically, and developed excellent writing and argumentative skills. I have written extensive research papers, and successfully defeated many opponents in classroom debate. I served as a tutor for Homeland Park Elementary for one year during my college career.
