My teaching style is as varied as the students I have taught. I feel it is important to relate to the student in order to help them learn best. When there are different learning styles, I do my best to use a variety of teaching techniques in order to cater to the need of the student. I feel that follow up is important, as well as repetition and hands-on practice. I am not a lecturer. Previous students have often remarked on my practical teaching style, relying on real world examples and explanations for business and mathematics. The only way to remember information long term is to relate it to something tangible, especially in subjects like statistics and economics. Relating the ephemeral to the practical is important, and later allows for the information to be used in a real world setting much, much easier. I believe that questions are more powerful teaching tools than simply delivering answers. Working with children has always been my passion.
