I have a bachelor's degree from Coe College in Art History and Writing, which included both creative and technical writing courses for completion. As of 2013, I have a Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing from Bowling Green State University. In addition to my academic achievements, I have worked at Bowling Green State University as an instructor of composition and creative writing. I taught both the Introduction to Academic Writing and the more advanced Academic Writing courses, as well as an undergraduate creative writing workshop. During this time, I was also the acting Managing Editor of the literary magazine, Mid-American Review. I have taught English to students who struggle with the subject and I have also taught honors level students. For a ten year period I taught journalism classes at the high school and advised the school newspaper. I am experienced at teaching writing skills which include simple expository writing, more complex writing and research papers.
