I have over 10 years in tutoring elementary and high school students. I started tutoring in 2000 with the YMCA's after-school program. I stayed there for six years before taking a break to finish college. In summer 2009, I started tutoring with the Boys & Girls Club in Montevallo. Also in summer 2009, I started tutoring high school students from Bibb, Chilton, & Shelby counties through the Upward Bound program at the University of Montevallo. I currently help students with any homework they may have as well as with taking the ACT to get into college. I have tutored Biology, English, and Math (algebra & geometry).

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Environmental Sciences from, and will soon have my Master of Arts Degree in Elementary Education. I have recently completed my student teaching requirement and will receive my teacher certification within the next few months. I have been a substitute within the Decatur City Schools System for the past two years in order to gain more first-hand teaching experience. I would say my teaching style is more relaxed. I believe this helps one see students weaknesses and strengths better. It also allows one to compare the overall effect of teaching for each student. When I see a student falling behind then thats when I take action and try top get them where they should be in that area.
My experience is one that has taken me many different places to meet many diffrent people. I have always had a gift of helping others and conveying to them my knowledge. I obtained my BA in English Communication from Talladega College and also i have a minor in History. I have had a great deal of expereince in writng papers, essays, articles ,and reports. During my time in college, I also tutored Spanish speaking students in the usuage of the English language.
