I am a student of history and believe that knowledge acquisition comes from interest and enthusiasm on the part of the learner. This interest comes from having an instructor who them selves is a learner. For the past 7 years I have been teaching in a private school setting. Although classroom sizes are small, I am required to teach multiple subjects. This year, I taught 3-7 grade Latin, 5th and 7th grade social studies, 5th grade grammar and writing, and 5th grade reading. In the past I have also taugh two half years of 10th grade English. I hold a M.A. in medical anthropology as well as a B.A. in cultural anthropology. Throughout graduate school I worked as a teaching assistant and upon graduation I taught biological and cultural anthropology courses for the University of Memphis's department of anthropology. The focus area of my graduate studies was child health; this resulted in working on numerous projects with elementary and middle school aged students.
