My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : In teaching elementary reading to at-level, below level, or ESL children, I begin with EACH individual student and format my instruction in a differentiated style within the classroom.

I have worked with children in a variety of settings and ages over the past 25 years: church camp counselor, gymnastics coach, dance instructor, theater, forensics judge, tutor, and classroom teacher. These experiences have both shaped my style of teaching and equipped me with a broad range of skills needed to connect with, instruct, and inspire children. I’ve worked for an elementary MPS school, an elementary Charter School, a suburban Middle School, and a Catholic school system. When two of the last schools I worked for closed because of financial difficulties, I went back to school to get my Masters Degree in Reading Curriculum and Instruction. My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : I have taught in classrooms and tutored elementary school students in reading for the past twelve years.

I enjoy using a hands-on approach when it suits the needs of my students. I enjoy playing games, showing short learning videos, singing songs, scaffolding strategies with my students.

A Little Bit About Me...

I was recently accepted into a Graduate Program and will soon start the long road to my Masters and PhD in History to some day be a History Professor. I have a BA in Integrated Marketing Communications with an emphasis in Creative Advertising and my second major was History. I love helping others, I find it to be the most rewarding work and no better way to help others than to help them learn. I am comfortable assisting students of all ages!
