I have over 30 years experience in accounting, with the last 25 in senior accounting positions. Over this time, with my expertise in all areas of accounting, I have trained numerous employees, some who had no education and some experience and others who had an education by little experience.
In my training, I teach the employee what they would need to know in order to succeed in the position. As a tutor, I would do the same. I present the information in terms that would be understandable to someone who knows little about the subject. Have the student review it and ask any questions. Quiz/test them on the information reviewing the results with them so that they will understand their errors and correct them.

I have many years of accounting experience in a corporate environment as a Controller. I have always enjoyed accounting and I take pride in accurate work and keeping up the new accounting guidelines. A few years ago I worked part-time at the Clark County Community College teaching a Certified Bookkeeper's Course and Understanding Financial Statements. I enjoyed helping the students and teaching in general. Unfortunately I worked full time as well and could not keep up with the hours.
I taught on a college level and I believe students should have an opportunity to read the material first and then we'll get together and go over what they don't understand. In accounting, repetition is important, understanding the basics and building on those basics is essential. This science is not always the easiest to understand.

My mother was a teacher for 33 years. Many summers she worked as a tutor and all through high-school and college I helped her. I graded student's papers, read with them, and helped with their homework. When I was in college, I tutored students in Spanish and English as a second language.
