The Achievement Centers, our after school tutorial/diagnostic clinic and before and after school care, is available for all ages and subjects. Tutoring and diagnostic testing is available after school, evenings (Monday – Friday) and Saturday mornings. The clinic is available year-round. Our testing clinician and school psychologist offer a Psychoeducational Evaluation to all new students. The testing is scheduled for two three hour sessions on separate days during after school hours. The evaluation consist of various test measuring a student’s cognitive abilities, processing skills, IQ, and academic levels. The evaluation will determine a student’s strengths and weaknesses, as well as how they think, reason and process information. A conference will be held with the family and/or the student. I love to see people grasping the simplest approach. I begin with an overview of what, exactly, is the goal and why we are doing it. I feel step by step methods, with easy to remember techniques, are best to achieving the final result. "Hands on" is definitely the approach, once the goal and methods have been established. Reiteration and practice help make problem solving achievable, and reasonably fun. As an Electrical Engineer, I am very capable in all areas of Math and Science. I have tutored family memebers for many years in these subjects and have acted as an independent contractor for high schools in the area as well. I feel my approach to the subjects and personal disposition, make the subject matter easier to grasp. My college level courses gave me a deeper understanding of all math related topics, which makes it easier to convey these topics in understandable terms.

Within the last year at ITT Technical Institute, I have taught electronics engineering and programming language as an adjunct instructor. From 1990 to 1996, while an adjunct instructor at Morton College, I taught the first Novell networking and Intell Assembler classes. I also taught the computer systems analysis and design, computer operations and Lotus 1-2-3 classes in the computer department. I also taught one section of the physical athropology course. During the past twenty years, I continue to give presentations in astronomy and fossil collecting to elementary, high school and library groups. I employ a wide range of classroom techniques: analogies, relating theory to current applications, drawing upon "real world" work experiances as examples, student exercies and practices, among many others.
