A Little Bit About Me...

I find the child's strengths and weaknesses. I communicate on their level. I am patient and fun to be around. I can get through to them because of my instincts.
I've been tutoring for the Goodwill to help disadvantaged youth, tutoring ASU students in accounting, economics and algebra. In addition, I helped a friend pass her GED. I have a Marketing BS as well as over 15 hours in accounting and German. Professionally, I have done over 18 years of sales training. In addition, I've been a guest lecturer at Indiana University Northwest and a consultant to the Gary Area Career Center and past member for the Hoosiers for Higher Education. I prefer to tutor math but can tutor other subjects as well.

As a graduate of Indiana University and a current law student at the Ave Maria School of Law, I was and still very much am driven by a desire to learn and share that knowledge with those around me. A Little Bit About Me...

My recent training through the nationally ranked Illinois State University English Education Program required me to work with a wide range of learners (from advanced placement students to those with learning disabilities). Therefore, my ability to differentiate instruction has certainly been polished. Prior to this training, I completed a teaching internship in which I assisted, tutored, and created lessons for young learners. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a BS in journalism, and a specialization in advertising/integrated marketing communications. I also have minors in English and psychology. As a result of studying both journalism and English, I have an extensive background in writing. I have tutored ESL students to learn to read and write in English.
My teaching style involves demonstrating how to understand a problem or perform a task before I ask the student to do so. By facilitating students in such a way, I believe they have a more one-on-one learning experience, as opposed to a strict lecture setting. With guidance and demonstration, I believe it is easier for students to learn without pressure.
