I have had approximately one year of combined teaching experience. I have taught junior high and high school age kids. I have done student teaching as well as taught my own art class. I have also taught several years of adult religious classes.

I love how all types of people have different ways of learning. I am very good at adapting to find out how best the person learns, so its not simply a boring exercise--more of the same, if you will. I have taught middle school students reading, English, and mathematics for 10 years. I earned my bachelor's in Elementary Education from Utah State with an emphasis in mathematics. As a middle school teacher, I have found that one of the main reasons students struggle is that they have reading deficits. This prompted me to pursue a Master’s degree in Literacy. I have tutoring experience in mathematics and reading. I am also a musician. I play the violin and sing as a mezzo-soprano. I have musical experience with college and community symphonies and choirs.
