I am truly passionate about working with children and helping them learn. I am patient with each child I work with. I hold them accountable for their own learning and success. I am not looking for them to always get the answer right, but rather to think and try 100% of the time. Sometimes we just don’t know the answer and that is ok. After graduation, I taught on a transitional teaching license. I taught in the Woodburn School District. I then went to Japan and taught English as a second language. I grew up between Bolivia and the United States and speak Spanish and English fluently. I took statistics in university and taught math in Spanish from time to time as a substitute for the Woodburn School District. In Woodburn I taught a self contained classroom for a while. I had to teach ELL students Social Studies, Math, Language arts in both Spanish and English and science. As a substitute I taught all kinds of classrooms including all subject matters. Learning is like a puzzle or a code, and I enjoy the reaction of students when they finally solve the puzzle, or decipher the code. I try to show the student the practical application of the subject, and then make them enjoy their time learning. I love seeing the joy of the "Aha!" moment.
