My experience is all in college. I had 9 Labs in college in all my science courses. I excelled very well in my science courses and i keep learning. Did great in my research project class. Played college baseball so i am great with athletes that do not want to study. I can break down big concepts into smaller concepts that is understandable for all students in the academia process. I studied a lot myself to achieve success in college and do well in classes.
Hands on, and more of an application study. I believe that the only way to actually understand something is being able to apply it to real world situations.

I started teaching chemistry in 1964. During my child-raising years, I did a lot of substitute teaching in various subjects, and worked at part-time and temporary classroom teaching and tutoring. My longest position was at University of Massachusetts, Lowell campus, (1993 through 2004, before moving to Florida), teaching 3 different levels of Freshman Chemistry. I have tutored chemistry, math, and biology in Florida since 2007, as an employee of Advanced Learning Center, St. Petersburg, until 2011, and independently to the present time. It's important to understand individual interests and how each student approaches problems because everyone is different. For example, creating analogies is an impetus to learning. To get a better idea of how I approach this style of teaching, I wrote an article: "Education for the Young Mind: The Science Behind Pogo Sticking." A Little Bit About Me...

I have developed my teaching style by watching the best and worst teachers I have had, and learning from them. I am a patient teacher who gives students praise for their accomplishments and the tools to correct their mistakes. I find the best way to teach a lesson is to lay the foundation, and then make the connections to the next level. Having a pupil fully understand the subject, not just get the right answer, is what drives my teaching.
I have been a swim coach, teaching children ages four to seventeen how to swim. I have a bachelor degree in Biochemistry and Biophysics, giving me a firm grasp of the sciences. My degree is a liberal arts degree, requiring of me work in all subjects and an ability to fully express myself. Currently, I own my own business and train new employees in operations and sales.
