My comments on tutoring English : SAT Reading Comprehension and Composition

In contrast to many of the other tutors, I would not presume to even imply that I could teach your student either math or English in a few hours of tutoring. What I can do is teach your student to be very 'test wise', teach them some easily applied techniques that will get them successfully past most of the math/geometry problems, teach them how to use the grading bias to score well on a less than stellar composition, and teach them how to find the 'key' to the reading comprehension questions.

I am a very interactive teacher. I want feedback so I can see the progress the student is making. If they are not getting something, I make adjustments and change tactics. I teach tot he student(s). Everyone learns differently. And sometimes by the time I get to them student, it has nothing to do with their ability but more their confidence because of previously bad experiences. Student outcomes were best with the supplementals due to limited attention span and high interest-low level materials.
