A Little Bit About Me...

Since I earned my K-6 teaching license, I have worked with children in several different instructional/mentor/tutoring positions. I worked as a teaching assistant in Fifth Grade and First Grade. At the same time, I was also the Education Director for the local Boys and Girls Club. I have also subbed and worked as a tutor since March of 2009.
I enjoy teaching and working with elementary aged children. I love those moments when, after much effort, the light of understanding dawns in a student's eyes. When it comes to how children acquire knowledge, I believe it is very important to help them build new knowledge based upon their prior knowledge and experiences. I am a very motivated and high-achieving person. I recently earned a BA in Psychology with a minor in Elementary Education. I am currently pursuing a MS in Teacher Education while working as an intern in an elementary setting. I have an Interim Teacher License. Through my coursework in college, I have gained skills in several areas such as math, science, reading, writing, and psychology.
