I create a positive atmosphere and help students to be responsible first to themselves and then to their community. I also try to make my students aware of their potiential and guide them in processing information by first understanding the context in which it is used. Then I like to use visuals in my teaching style. I prefer to start with testing of some kind to assess the developmental level of the student.

A Little Bit About Me...

Al though I have never technically tutored or taught a child writing, I am interested in helping aid a child's learning experience. A Little Bit About Me...

I have been at Pennfield High School for almost 6 months now and I have learned how to incorporate the new standards into the curriculum. I am currently teaching part time in the Mathematics department, teaching the subjects of Geometry and Algebra. I also have spent 5 years working for the Carman Ainsworth School District as an At-Risk tutor. I believe that teaching styles need to be flexible to the student. I have worked with a very wide variety of students, from the severely limited autistic youth to the highly gifted medical student. While approach and focus might vary for the individual or subject matter the essence remains the same. I try to envision at least 3 different ways of approaching a problem, I discuss material but let the students ask questions which I then tailor my explanations toward.
