Kevin A - Wilmington, NC 28405 (28.5 mi) - Electrical Engineering Tutor - $37.50/hr.
I am a former United States Naval Officer that has extensive tutoring experience at various education levels. I have a degree in Electrical Engineering with background in Nuclear Engineering subjects.
When I was in college I used to tutor fellow students in subjects like Calculus, Algebra, and Trigonometry. I also work for the university as a tutor doing similar work for three years.
I am currently employed in Wilmington, NC. I volunteer locally at multiple schools for mentoring and tutoring of young children in Math, Reading, and test preparations. I love to work with people and feel joy when they conquer the challenges of the classroom to reach their full potential. If you need the help I will be there for you. I look forward to working with you.

Brent K - Wilmington, NC 28401 (33.2 mi) - Electrical Engineering Tutor - $50.00/hr.
During my time at NC State, I worked at the mathematics laboratory for two years. In that short amount of time, I learned as much as I taught. The experience of communicating technical information in a way that is accessible requires a set of skills that, in my humble opinion, will always be in demand. In mathematics, I was taught early on that in order to prove something you need three things:
1. facts that are obvious/self-evident
2. relate them in a logical way
3. frame these facts and their relationships inside of a theory
Engineering is just applied mathematics. I believe that anyone can do it, at their level; the key for an educator is to have sufficient people skills to diagnose the problem areas a given student might have and then address those in the context of solving a given problem.
