My first major mentoring/teaching experience occurred in college when I began leading study groups and eventually organizing tutoring sessions with a number of my fellow English, Calculus, and Physics students. I then obtained a position as a youth counselor with the YMCA and quickly moved up to Site Coordinator where I was in charge of my own after school care group, including being in charge of organizing activities and managing youth counselors. Most recently I underwent PADI Divemaster training where I had real world experience teaching and assisting PADI Open Water students with classroom, confined water, and open water training.

My teaching style is dynamic. I try to make all lessons interesting to capture the attention of my students. Typically, I teach the material for a short period in the beginning of the lesson, but focus my efforts on reinforcing the acquisition of knowledge and skill in the student through activities and cooperative discussion of the material. I enjoy what I do and the students benefit from my passion.
I am lawyer. I've also taught and tutored for approximately 2 years. Since I read and write for a living, I appreciate the beauty of words and the impact that a carefully placed word can make. My undergraduate degree is in Psychology and I've worked with many personality types in my professional life; as such, I work well with variant personality types.
