I enjoy teaching children and helping them accomplish their goals. I believe that learning should be fun. I try to motivate each child by focusing on their strengths. I encourage each child to try their best. I believe that each child has the potential to do well in school and I feel that it is my job to help them succeed. I have helped several of my students improve their math and reading grades, dramatically! One of my students was failing math and he received a B on his last report card! The other student went from a fourth grade reading level to a seventh grade reading level in less than three months. I have taught elementary school in private and public settings, in both New York City and Florida. I taught high school English and Global Studies in New York city. I have worked as a tutor in general subjects for elementary students, as well as for Reading, Language, and Biology for high school anc dollege students. I was an elementary school teacher for 11 years. I taught second and third grades. I also worked part time teaching reading and FCAT skills to elementary students from third to fifth grades. During the time I was teaching I also tutored students in other classes in math and reading.
I believe all children are capable of learning, if you can find something that excites and interests them.
