I love to work with children of all ages and genders. I have worked with children who have learning disabilities, physical disabilities as well as children of all ages, races, and genders. I attempt to make learning as fun and relevant to the child as possible as every child has varying levels of understanding and concentrations. I am extremely patient and can handle anything. I like to relate learning to childrens' lives (make it about basketball if the boy likes basketball, or about chocolate if the girl likes chocolate). I was a peer tutor in high school for English and Spanish. I also tutored children in Hebrew at a local temple. In addition, I volunteered as a tutor for underprivileged children in Chicago in all areas: Spelling, Reading, Writing, Math, Language, etc. for grades K-8.

I have taught grades 6-12 in almost all disability identifications primarily math and language arts; however, have supported various other subject areas. I believe that all students, regardless of gender, socioeconomic environment or ability, can learn and should be challenged with creative and applicable opportunities to achieve their best. Understanding that not all individuals learn in the same way, at the same rate or retention level, my responsibility as an educator is to create a safe learning environment that facilitates academic, social, and emotional growth that is developmentally appropriate.
