A Little Bit About Me...

I believe education is primarily about learning, not merely making a grade. As I applied this philosophy in college, I realized that where true learning occurs good grades follow. I completed a bachelor's in accounting summa cum laude in 2009. In addition to my major focus in finance and business, I completed a minor in History and took an extensive number of English courses as well. The broad liberal arts framework for my college curriculum taught me not only specific subjects, but how to learn and how others learn. As a graduate of Northern Illnois, and with currenty enrollment in NC Teach at Western Carolina a commitment to excellence in education would be an understatment. With twenty-one credit hours in education related course from Illinois, I wanted to further perfect my teaching talents by getting a Master's in Teaching through the NC Teach Program.
I teach in a style that relates to the students current conditions. Each lesson is tailored to bring reality, and importance to their lives while not challenging their autonomy. It is critical to get each student to understand the far reaching importance of historical events, and how they still effect today's atmosphere.
