I try to find out what a student is interested in and incorporate that. In my work with Lincoln Public Schools I often have extra time with students since we complete the required material more quickly than the general class, and I often use that for special projects that apply the concepts we're learning to fields like computer science, architecture, and art.

I like to make teaching fun. I pride myself on my ability to add fun through puzzles, arts and crafts, etc. and teach all at the same time. It is so rewarding when a child you are working with accomplishes what they may have though to be the impossible. One of the reasons I am no longer teaching is the special ed paperwork was getting to take up more time than the teaching was. Plus I now have 2 small children at home.
