I enjoy using innovative engaging learning strategies. For example, my preschool students painted the Aurora Borealis with neon paint colors during a Science lesson at Christmastime.
While teaching at Maryville Children's Academy in Maryville, Tennessee, I created learning activities for the Kindergarten Readiness and Four Year Old students. Language Arts is one of my top subjects! Have taught language Arts to students from First grade through college level.

I believe in meeting a student at whatever level he or she is ready to work. I am friendly and like to develop a personal relationship with my students in order to know how to serve them better. I use technology as appropriate.
I began my career teaching music to students in grades K-8. I have always loved the Special Needs students and thus chose to pursue my Master's degree in the Special Education field. My first Special Ed. assignment was for ADHD and LD students in 7th grade Math and Language Arts. From there I have progressed to being the Lead teacher in inclusion settings as both the regular education teacher and the special education teacher. I am experienced in interpreting testing results and IEP writing and would willingly serve as an advocate for your chile and advocate. I am currently teaching grammar and composition to college level students.

Started my college career as a Writing, Literature, and Publishing major, but transferred schools and switched majors to Sign Language Interpreting. For the past year I have been actively interpreting in the East Tennessee community, largely educational. Currently, I am a full-time interpreter for Knox County Schools.
