I played reed instruments (clarinet and saxophones) professionally in New Orleans in the late 1970s before returning to graduate school to study chemical physics. I am personal friends with well-known professional musicians and scientists. I taught my children to play reed instruments (clarinet and saxophones). I have a BS degree in Animal Science, minor in Biology. I have 20 years laboratory service with the USDA- APHIS- National Veterinary Services Lab, during this time I became a certified Histotechnician, received a HACCP certified and attended ISU to continue my education in Microbiology.
I have designed and implemented training for visiting scientists at the USDA, organized and planned annual "Take Our Children to Work Day" events, taught a microbiology session to underserved youth at Alcorn State University, Alcorn Mississippi as part of the USDA's AgDiscovery program.
