As the second oldest of six kids I have a lot of at-home experience in tutoring. With a BA in Biology I feel very equipped to teach children in sciences. I recently earned my second bachelor degree, BS in Chemical Engineering and BS in Chemistry, from The University of Alabama in Huntsville. I have gained understanding in critical thinking, technical writing, and a good foundation of math and science necessary in the field of Chemistry. I began tutoring my sophomore year of college, after a professor told me I solved a tricky problem in an odd, yet time effective manner. During my years as an undergraduate English major, I was drawn to the world of teaching and tutoring through two part-time positions, including one on-campus, with college-aged students, and one with elementary to high school-aged students. I loved seeing my students' pleasure at learning how to comprehend the words they read, to assimilate that information into an in-depth college essay, to finally grasp that one bit of knowledge that so alluded them. I have taught in the private sector for 6 years and public schools for one year. I have been tutoring for the past 15 years. All of this is has been grades 1-8.
