Teaching has been a desire of mine since I taught math at a local high school for two years. I am a firm believer in giving accurate, detailed information and being prepared for any questions that someone may have. I began tutoring students in 1984 while working in the math lab as an undergraduate student at the University of Southern Mississippi. After completing my Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics with a general science minor, I had the opportunity to teach college algebra as a graduate teaching assistant. Some students find this condescending but it usually progresses fast enough to reach their skill level without offending. I have always found that starting at the bottom prevents misunderstanding as you build toward the top.
