Once while subbing, I entered a classroom where the students had been allowed to watch Jerry Springer on TV for the last two weeks. I couldn't let this continue, but I saw how emotional the class was about the show. I encouraged them to write their own talk show and told them we would perform it the next day. I find that connecting student's interest with the subject matter to be learned is the best way to teach.
After completing my undergraduate degree in English Literature at Florida State University, I worked as a substitute teacher in Hillsborough County for two years. In 2009, I completed my Master's Degree in Communication at University of South Florida while simultaneously employed at the Department of Special Education. I have been tutoring with Advanced Learners for 1 year and am currently an Adjunct Instructor of Public Speaking at HCC Dale Mabry.

Good High school student looking to make money,

I am a high schooler with good grades. I help many of my friends, and even their younger siblings with their school work. because im saving up for a car, i figure it would be smart for me to make a business out of it and make money to put towards my car. my current GPA is 3.8. i am currently enrolled in almost all AP classes, and a technical education class, along with a early child care class where we have a real preschoolers where toddlers go to school there. my current transportation is my mother, who is more than willing to go as long as its not too far.
i usual do hands on activity because personally that's how i learn best. i am able to adapt to the way the chld learns best tho. Also i have experience with special ed children and am willing to work with them.

I am currently wrapping up my Master's degree in Ministry Leadership from Southeastern University. This degree covers everything from business and leadership, to organization. Prior to starting the Master's program I worked in television news as a producer of a daily news broadcast. I worked in television for six years while I worked on my BS at the University of Miami. At UM I double majored in English with a concentration in Creative Writing.
I believe students can learn anything if they are hungry enough to learn it. I like to teach by example and also use hands-on learning techniques. The best way I would learn is by trying it myself, then I would allow a teacher or a coach show me where I need to improve, they then would show me how to correct the mistake.
