I have achieved my MA in Chinese, my BA in Japanese, and worked as a language teacher for 11 years in China. Almost all of my students have not just improved their language abilities, but passed the language proficiency tests such as HSK Test (Chinese) and JLPT test (Japanese).I would like to help students realize their potential. I believe the best way to improve Mandarin is through speaking it. Therefore, I will stress on the oral portion more. I think reading and discussing about articles on different subjects is a good way to help students feel comfortable about speaking Chinese. I think geology is a subject that needs to be verbalized and visualized. Therefore, I will rely on graphics and dialogues with my students to help them familiarize themselves with geologic concepts.
