I have spent most of my life in an academic environment. I thrive on success- not only my own, but also the success of others around me. I became a substitute teacher in order to gain experience as a classroom leader. Tutoring is a necessary duty of an educator. I believe a one on one environment is conducive to learning and retaining information; being able to receive direct feedback from an educator is one of the most valuable assets to a young learner.

I thoroughly enjoy working with, teaching, and learning from children. I approach teaching with the belief that all students are capable of excelling if both they and the teacher have the appropriate attitude. With an easygoing (and hopefully fun) style of teaching, I strive to instill in students the excitement of learning.
While attending Birmingham Southern College, I had several teaching experiences: I volunteered as a tutor at a nearby elementary school, tutored in my college's writing center, and worked for three summers as a camp counselor. After receiving a BA in English, I taught high school English conversation in Hungary for a year. My ultimate goal is to teach English at a university, but I love working with primary and secondary schoolers.
