After graduating with a 4.0 from Vestavia Hills High School in Birmingham, AL, I went to Auburn University to pursue an Industrial and Systems Engineering degree. My experience is one that has taken me many different places to meet many diffrent people. I have always had a gift of helping others and conveying to them my knowledge. I obtained my BA in English Communication from Talladega College and also i have a minor in History. I have had a great deal of expereince in writng papers, essays, articles ,and reports. During my time in college, I also tutored Spanish speaking students in the usuage of the English language.
I would say my teaching style is more relaxed. I believe this helps one see students weaknesses and strengths better. It also allows one to compare the overall effect of teaching for each student. I think differentiated instruction is the best way to teach. This essentially means changing up the instruction in an effort to allow all students to learn. Because students have different learning styles, teachers should try to teach the material in new, different, and creative ways. Teachers should consider the way that the particular child learns best (ex. auditory, visual, performing, ect.)as well as brain hemisphere dominance. Teachers should cater instruction to match the needs of individual learners.

I use a couple of different techniques to help students understand math, including using visual aides, problem solving techniques, role reversal (where they explain a lesson to me), blackboard/whiteboard work, and games. Admittedly, I have no direct (structured) teaching experience. However, I have nearly five years of experience in the journalism field, and during that time I've mentored a number of fledgling college and high school journalists.
