My comments on tutoring Reading : Because I have tutored English as a Second Language for 8 years I understand tutoring the basics of English reading. Working on comprehension is a forte of mine.

I taught at an outdoor school for 1 year in the Bahamas teaching responsibilities to kids ages 6-12. I have tutored adult English as a Second Language learners for 8 years. Don't tell me 2+2=4. Tell me WHY 2+2=4.

Although I wish I could count the endless amount of time I spent playing teacher as a child, I know parents are looking for more expierence than an eight year old and her dolls. I have tutored children, ages ranging from eight to fourteen, off and on for three years.
