I love working with kids and educating them. One of my first career experience was working as an aftercare counselor with a private school in South Florida. Over my time there, I went from just being a counselor being the director of the entire after-school program. I was also a substitute teacher and worked with all grades from Kindergarten to 7th grade. I understand the value of helping children learn in a dynamic way and I believe that I am not only knowledgeable enough but relatable with kids and their learning styles.

During my 37 year work career, I participated in the design, construction and operation of various types of energy plants. I graduated Cum Laude from N.C. State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering. I also obtained a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Duke University while working full time. I was a registered professional engineer in North Carolina for over 20 years while actively practicing engineering. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in accounting. I have very strong math skills, especially in Algebra, which is what my daughter is learning now. I excelled in grammar, art, health, and science as well. I was a teacher at a private school for a year after college before I started a family and began home schooling. My daughter is now in the 8th grade and tests at the college level in reading and high school levels at most other subjects.
I have a daughter in the 8th grade and a son in the 6th. I have home schooled them the past 9 years. They have very different learning styles which has helped me to learn to teach in different ways to accommodate their needs. I am patient and easy going and I love helping kids.
