A Little Bit About Me...

Ever since I can remember, my mother has stressed the importance of obtaining a degree in higher education. Because of this, I have furthered my education by attending college. I am currently a senior at Brigham Young University, Idaho. I am majoring in Animal Science and minoring in Chemistry. I have taken advanced writing classes and have written numerous research papers in several areas of study. In high school, I tutored students in algebra. While working on my associates degree in California, I tutored students, including learning disabled students, in several classes. While attending BYUI, I have has the opportunity to be a teachers assistant which entailed teaching labs on a weekly basis to students.

In Elementary I tutored for about a year. I also worked at a youth camp for kids with add adhd drug issues and anger problems. I have my A.S. in business and am very good with Math. I have also helped my little siblings with homework.
I am really good with kids. What I excel at is relating info. I can tell when someone is struggling, and usually know how to rectify the situation. I really enjoyed when I was able to tutor in elementary. The kids that I worked with had real problems in Math. With all of the kids that I taught they learned quick, just not the way teachers taught. I had to come up with different methods to relate the subject to them.

Probably my greatest gift that I've been given in this life is my love for people. I believe this love manifests itself through my teaching and makes me a unique educator. My degree consists of two areas of emphases: English and the Humanities, with a minor in Dance. Through the course of my study, I have learned how to be a better writer, understand and appreciate literature, religions, and cultures of the world. For my last two years at BYU-Idaho, I worked at the university's Writing Center.
