I practised law in Texas from 1966 until 2003 when I moved to Gainesville Florida with my family. I worked as a paralegal, parttime, for a lawfirm for awhile, then decided to take the Bar Exam in Florida. I took and passed the Florida Bar Exam in 2007. Research shows students who fail often have less background knowledge, remember less, their attention wanders and they lack automaticity, the ability to recall basic facts. I really like working with children from low income families. I think each child has a different interest and way of learning. I try to discover these learning styles before I begin the tutoring process. I try to allow them to be comfortable and having fun during our sessions. Most of the time I do a lot of question/conversation responses to allow them to find the answer for themselves. I like a problem based learning style, even for the youngest of children.
