Hi! My name is Lauren Cotman. I am a middle school Spanish teacher in Chesterfield County. I have been studying Spanish since I was in the 6th grade and went on to become the President of the Spanish National Honors Society while I was in High School. While in High School, I developed a love for the language and all of the different cultures of the Spanish speaking world. I went on to major in Spanish at Bridgewater College and I was very active with the Latino population on campus and in the community. In college I was a "student instructor" in my university's writing lab, which is just another way of saying that I was a tutor. Post graduation, I now have experience with journalism as I've written articles for The Style Vibe and Green Label, both highly respected online magazines. Also as a creative writer I have published numerous short stories as well as a few poems. I currently have two novellas under review for publication.
My teaching style is very hands on and unique. I focus on the writer's voice above all because without that, they are only writing words with no soul behind them.
