I love teaching and interacting with today's young kids. They fascinate me. Every child has different learning systems and sometimes it takes several tries to reach that special spot that opens the child's eyes to what excites them about learning. The thrill that I feel when that point is found and theirs, (And my, excitement,)grows. There is no feeling in the world like that!
When I substitute for a teacher, I want to see a lesson plan. I do not want to be the classroom babysitter. If there is no plan for the day I involve the students in making one. I teach a hands on curriculum as much as possible. I constantly have visuals, or hands on manipulatives to helps students gain a better understanding. A Little Bit About Me...

As I began college, experience working with children also began. I started out in childcare facilities, with children 6 weeks to 12 years of age, and also in after school care working with preschool-3rd grade students. I continued with both jobs and gained more experience through field work. Upon graduation, I substitute taught in the middle school grades, with a long term position in Math. Over the past three years I have spent it working with students with disabilities such as cognitive, behavioral, emotional, autism, and traumatic brain injury.
