I have a passion for working individually with students to find their personal learning styles so that they can succeed and excel academically. I encourage students to think through a problem and find a solution that works for their individual abilities and plays to their strengths. I believe learning should be fun and not a forced activity.
I began working as a Water Safety Instructor when I was 16 and taught swimming to people age 3 to age 76. I worked as a Teacher's Assistant at West Virginia university and taught my own section of a one credit course required of all freshmen students while working on a BA in English with a concentration in Creative Writing. Head coach for girls’ softball team and won first place every year. I instructed students in various technical schools the Medical Billing/Coding Programs. Now, teaching Medical Billing/Coding at Harrisburg Area Community College. In addition, I tutored high school students for two years in Algebra. I have an understanding of how students struggle in various subjects such as Math and English which are two of my strongest areas.

While at college, I was a member of the Americorps program in which I completed over 300 hours of community service. During that service, I had roles as both a student and a teacher.
