I believe that students learn best by doing. I am a very hands on teacher. I like when my students are out of their seats and making discoveries through experiments and exploration. I also am a firm believer in the multiple intelligences. I believe that when these intelligences are incorporated in to teaching, that each student then has an equal opportunity to learn.
My first degree was in Environmental Studies. After graduating, I took a position with a local non-profit where I taught recycling education to school aged children. I enjoyed teaching so much that it encouraged me to return to school to obtain my elementary education license. Since then I have taught both Kindergarten, First, and Second Grade. I am a recent graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno. I earned my BS in Finance through the College of Business Administration which enabled me to gain experience in different subjects such as math, economics, accounting, information systems, and marketing. I also used to tutor other, younger students when I was in high school.

I spent 3 years subsituting in the Sacramento USD system while I went to school for my credentials. Experience gained is not what truly counts it's ones desire to learn through experience that's seperates oneself.
