Once while subbing, I entered a classroom where the students had been allowed to watch Jerry Springer on TV for the last two weeks. I couldn't let this continue, but I saw how emotional the class was about the show. I encouraged them to write their own talk show and told them we would perform it the next day. I find that connecting student's interest with the subject matter to be learned is the best way to teach.
After completing my undergraduate degree in English Literature at Florida State University, I worked as a substitute teacher in Hillsborough County for two years. In 2009, I completed my Master's Degree in Communication at University of South Florida while simultaneously employed at the Department of Special Education. I have been tutoring with Advanced Learners for 1 year and am currently an Adjunct Instructor of Public Speaking at HCC Dale Mabry.

French is my mother tongue. I have also taken the exams from Alliance Francaise. I have taught kids as well as adults with varying range of learning abilities. I am open to teach spoken as well as written French, or both. There is no age limit to learn. From my experience, there is no such thing as kids can grasp a new language better than an adult. Irrespective of your age, you can still learn it. French is not difficult, it just needs a little patience!

I had the privilege to stay home with my 2 children and homeschooling them. It was a wonderful experience. I wanted to show them that it's fun to learn. Regarding learning a language, it's important to make sure to cover the basic or I would say the foundation like grammar but also make it fun with the conversation. It's amazing how it's so much easier to learn when you are interested in the subject.
