I have managed staff and senior level executives for more than 12 years. I believe the key to educating anyone is to understand the students learning obstacle and work to simplify the issue. The key here is what is simple to each student will be different on a case by case basis. Additionally, I feel that being engaging, and a little humorous helps keep students eganged in the subject matter. However, I also feel that the best way to learn is to work on practical examples. I am a firm believer in teaching through discovery and in providing a constructivist approach to learning. As Clay P. Bedford quoted “You can teach a student a lesson for a day; but if you can teach him to learn by creating curiosity, he will continue the learning process as long as he lives.” This quote is the basis for my enthusiasm when it comes to learning, and one I hope to instill as I teach. Although I do understand that each person learns at a different rate, I apply a customized rational approach to teaching math-based subjects based on the needs and goals of both parents and the student. A Little Bit About Me...

I believe I have a good mental connection with children. Teaching Math is not just about solving problems, using specific methods, equations & formulas that the student has to memorize, and then will forget after a couple days. It's about understanding the problems, it's about knowing where the problem is, and how to solve it using basic Math knowledge and some axioms, step by step, even reinventing the answer, if possible. Teaching Spanish is a lot different, its more methodical, I use some mnemonic "tricks" for the kids & adults to remember the important words & translations.
My best skill is Math, I have always been proficient at it. As an Engineer, I have had the opportunity to learn more and take advantage of this skill, and I want to share it, I love teaching.
