Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! The pen is mightier than the sword! Through creative writing, students will feel the full benefit of this old-but-true statement. Students will look at the building blocks of story in order to better communicate themselves. Students will learn the power of flow and dynamic story in order to better communicate with others. Students will garner and awareness for the human condition in order to learn to write more powerfully.

Throughout undergraduate and now graduate work, I have always had a passion for passing along what I know, in hopes of teaching and inspiring, and developing others. I have two years of private-school teaching behind me, as well as two summers working with inner-city kids in a program that used the arts to bridge the gap between social and educational shortfalls within the city. I am well read and well versed in classical and current literature, with published articles and short stories to my credit. All throughout high school I tutored younger kids with homework or specific needs in classes. I'm very flexible and very hands-on with my teaching. As a visual learner, it helps me to have a visual aid whenever I can and I employ that in my teaching. My strategy is to make learning fun for the students. If I can't enjoy what I'm learning, then I won't learn it and as such I strive to make whatever I'm teaching enjoyable for the student.

I enjoyed working with children, and tried on every ocassion to make learning fun to each student. I realized that every student learn different and work diligently to get on that child level of learning.
